Fraudulent Text Message Alert
We have been notified that some of our members have been receiving text messages claiming to be from Garden State FCU stating that their debit cards haven been frozen. It instructs the reader to call a number which then asks for personal information and card information, including the card number.
Please note that Garden State FCU does not send text messages stating that debit cards are frozen nor would we ever ask for your full card number. Any text message claiming to be from us stating that there are problems with your debit card should be considered fraudulent and be deleted immediately. DO NOT RESPOND TO IT.
If we believe that there is suspicious activity on your debit card, you may receive a call from Garden State FCU or our card processor, These phone calls are not fraudulent and will never ask for your full card number. Because of this, it is important that we have updated phone numbers on record for your account to ensure we or our card processor can contact you if we see suspicious activity going through your debit card. If we are unable to reach you, a temporary block may be placed on your card for security reasons until we hear from you.
